Our Health Guarantee
Our puppies come with a 1 year health guarantee against genetic issues. Our parents are thoroughly tested and cleared for over 200 genetic conditions. If a puppy is found to have health issues due to an inherited condition, I will provide you a refund within the first year.
On Papa's Farm is not responsible for any adverse reactions to vaccines. As a new puppy owner, take the time to educate yourself on the dangers of over-vaccination in young puppies and administer only a few core vaccines. I also strongly recommend only getting ONE vaccination per visit. Their bodies are growing rapidly. They go from zero lbs to adult size in almost a year. Canine cancers are on the rise for reasons we don't fully know. It is only a minor inconvenience on your part to schedule an extra visit or two to spread out the vaccinations. I strongly urge you to make this minor sacrifice for you new best friend.
I also recommend you do your research before scheduling your puppy's spay/neuter surgery. Golden Retrievers are one of the breeds that research is beginning to show the benefits of delaying the spay/neutering until after maturity. Allowing a pup to keep their sex hormones through puberty lessens the risk of hip dysplasia, cruciate ligament tears, and other bone and joint abnormalities, and some cancers. Here is just one article on it.

Going home is pretty stressful for these little guys. They are leaving the comfort of their mama and littermates. Though we begin potty and crate training while here, when they go home, those trainings often step up a notch! Lots of stressors on a 8 week old! So I strongly ask that you keep them on the puppy food I send them home on for a few weeks. There are many wonderful dog foods on the market today, so I don't require you to keep them on the food of my choice for your health guarantee. It's just a suggestion to reduce the number of stressors going on at once in their little lives for those first few weeks at home. I'll send them home with a small bag to get you started, but I'd strongly encourage you to keep them on it for a few weeks before switching to your preferred food.
Also, talk to your veterinarian, but until they receive all their vaccines, they aren't fully protected. So I encourage new owners to avoid taking your puppy to public places, dog parks, pet stores, etc until they have received all their vaccines.
