They are getting so big and busy! Puppies will be going on their first trip to the vet and receiving first immunizations soon. Remember to call your vet and see when they'd like you to bring them in for their next visit and immunizations. Per my vet: Remember as they have almost finished nursing, the immunity they received from mama is diminishing, but they aren't fully vaccinated yet, so please refrain from taking them to doggy parks, pet stores, or other places until they have received all their puppy vaccines. Your vet can advise you as to his recommendations.

The puppies and I had a wonderful weekend meeting everyone! We were all exhausted by Sunday evening. The puppies napped a lot Monday. One of my daughters noticed that (unless I'm missing someone) all the families with children have boys! I'm sure a few of you have grown childen, possibly girls, but there are 9 boys going to have a new puppy in their home soon. We thought that was pretty cool. We think a lot of the puppies in our last litter went to homes with girls. We just found it interesting.
Today they went on their first car ride! Quite a few were a little unsure about it all and decided to jump out of their box and hide under the back seat. Hopefullly, they'll get a little more comfortable in the vehicle over the next couple weeks!
My daughter had a lot of fun getting creative with the pictures today. I hope you enjoy!

This has been a very busy week for these guys! They have moved out of the whelping box and are in the big pen! They've readily taken to puppy food and get very excited when they see me coming with it, though they still enjoy a good nursing from mama too!! We have been HARD at work litter training and they are all doing pretty good. I'd say about 90% of the poops and 75% of the pees are in the litter area. I'm so thankful for that! They are teething, so we have been rotating different toys for them to chew on. We have a small crate in the big pen and during nap time someone always claims the crate. The other evening, 5 of them squeezed in for nap together!

This week they have been perfecting their walking skills. They are also experimenting with little barks and yips. So cute to listen to!

Their eyes are beginning to open! They are getting up on wobbly little legs and trying to take their first steps!! So cute!
Since they are now able to hear, we've begun playing the Canine Noise Phobia desensitization CD's each day. So not only are they exposed to our busy household of noises, but they are also experiencing city sounds, thunderstorm noises, and fireworks through the CD program.

They are getting so big and busy! We brought in a pan of clean snow one day and they loved playing in it! We had their big trip to the vet Friday. Getting 9 puppies and a mama to the vet 30 minutes away was quite the undertaking but we survived! They all received a clean bill of health and got their first immunizations! Remember to call your vet and see when they'd like you to bring them in for their next visit and immunizations. If you have settled on a name, let us know and we'll start calling them by it! A few of them seem to already recognize theirs! This week, we seem to have turned a corner - a lot more awake play time and shorter naps! We've been busily thinking of ideas to keep them occupied. We cut the bottom out of a 5 gal. bucket for a tunnel. They mastered it pretty quickly and are now learning to nudge it with their noses to roll it. At each naptime, there is usually at least one puppy who claims the inside of the tunnel as their nap space! We've also added a large cardboard box with a blanket draped over it for a "mountain"! They like to play King of the Mountain. Charles was the first boy to master the mountain and Vivi Love was the first girl to scale it! Usually a puppy claims the top of the mountain to take their nap.
